The principals of Electronic Data Protection, LLC (‘EDP’) have years of experience in conveying fully encrypted healthcare records, via the Internet, to state-of-the-art datacenters where they are provided for continuous online use/access, or are available for on-demand restoration.

EDP’s data backup and storage complies with the strict requirements of the following Acts and Standards:

  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (‘HIPAA’);
  • Federal Information Processing Standards (‘FIPS’); and
  • Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (‘SOX’ or ‘Sarbox’).

What We Do

How long can your business operate without access to its electronic records? Do you have adequate ‘insurance’ against the loss of your data?

EDP provides electronic data backup and storage for essentially every business need (we only store business and healthcare data). EDP’s low fees (the Silver Plan stores 5GBs for under 50 cents a day) enable affordable, secure storage of your critical data.

Fully automated, bi-directional 128-bit SSL-encrypted backups of data, images, etc. are scheduled on a frequency based on the EDP Service Plan you choose. Data backups are immediately stored in our large Storage Area Network (‘SAN’) in a highly-secure EDP datacenter and then, as a safeguard, replicated and stored in a second EDP datacenter.

Our Los Angeles and St. Louis-based datacenters are guarded 24x7x365 by on-site personnel and video surveillance; access is restricted to designated personnel. Both  datacenters offer complete redundancy in the areas of fire protection; fiber optic cabling; electrical power (backup power comes from battery UPS and diesel generators); and, concurrent connections to at least two of the world’s largest Internet backbones. As a result, your data is always available for quick restoration.

EDP’s Storage Area Network offers data storage ranging from 5GBs to Multi Petabytes (PBs) and custom plans can be designed to meet specific needs.

How We Do It

We use the latest hardware and storage technologies to add extensive SANs in the datacenters that we already use to provide complex HIPAA-compliant data services for the healthcare industry. Locating these state-of-the-art SANs in our existing facilities allows us to offer secure data storage at unusually low fees!

To illustrate, here’s an example of what two companies charge their customers for automated daily data backups and storage:

§         Company ‘A’ charges $99.95/month for its Professional Plan with a Customer Service Plan, or $119.95/month without a Customer Service Plan, to store up to 10GBs of data. ($12.95 for each additional GB)  http://www.dentrix.com/eservices/ebackup.asp

§         Company ‘B’ charges $69.95/month to store up to 10GBs of data. ($7.00 per GB) http://globaldatavault.com/v3/pricesSt. Louis

Compare those fees with EDP’s Gold Plan that provides 10GBs of data storage:

§         1-year plan, paid in advance, is $420 ($3 per additional GB).

§         Monthly plan, paid in advance, is $40 ($3 per additional GB).

Why risk losing your data when EDP offers protection plans starting at less than 50 cents a day?
