EDP Operations

How are EDP’s data backups handled?

First, the client’s data is automatically backed up to their primary datacenter. (The primary location for clients west of the Mississippi River is Los Angeles; for clients east of the Mississippi River the primary site is St. Louis.) The data is then replicated and backed up to the secondary datacenter. In the event of an emergency, the data in either facility can be accessed at once. If the data volume allows restoration via the Internet, the downloading can begin right away.

If the volume of data requires restoration from media (such as DVDs or external hard drives) the process of downloading data and preparing it for shipment can begin immediately upon notification.

Will EDP always be able to access my data for quick restoration?

Yes. By utilizing two datacenters with identical and fully redundant systems, including connectivity, we have the capability to do data backups and/or provide data restorations 24x7x365.
