Data Restorations
How are data restorations performed?
A restore may involve anything from
a single file to an entire system.
The EDP backup utility allows you
to select individual files or
folders for restoration. If you have
a catastrophic loss and no operating
system, you must first install your
base O/S, service packs, and network
drivers then re-install the EDP
Backup software. Once this is done,
you can connect to the EDP servers,
and retrieve your files. EDP Backup
Technicians are available 24x7x365 to
assist with emergency restorations.
What happens if my data volume is
too large for online restoration?
EDP can download your data to DVD’s
or to external hard drives that can
accommodate up to 1 Terabyte each.
The DVDs or external hard drive(s) can then be sent via
overnight delivery service or on a
‘next flight out’ basis via the
airlines, whichever you require.
Do you charge to restore my data?
Online data restorations are
performed at no charge. Fees are
charged for downloading large
volumes of data to DVD’s or external
hard drives and shipping them to
clients.
Can I restore to an alternate
location to avoid overwriting a
file?
Yes.
